Where to stay for the WEF: Davos or Klosters

Accommodation decides how much of your week is spent in a car. Choose with the road in mind.

In short

Stay in Davos if you can. Klosters is roughly 20 to 30 minutes away in normal conditions, with one main road in, and takes far longer in Forum week. Book early, before prices rise.

The short answer

Stay in Davos if you can

Book early, before prices skyrocket, and stay as close to your programme as possible.

Hotel prices in Davos rise sharply as the Forum approaches, and the well-located hotels go first. If you are organising a trip, secure accommodation as soon as the dates are fixed.

Davos puts you within minutes of the congress area, the receptions and the evening programme. Klosters is a pleasant alternative on paper, but it comes with real disadvantages in Forum week.

Compare

Davos against Klosters

Klosters is a drive of roughly 20 to 30 minutes from Davos in normal conditions. In Forum week, allow far more.

If you do stay in Klosters

Plan for the road

Some guests will stay in Klosters because the rooms are available or because they prefer the town. We can make that work, but we plan differently: extra time in every schedule, a chauffeur who knows the valley road, and an alternative if the road closes.

Anticipate the unexpected. A tree falling on the road or heavy snow can close the only way in. We keep a back-up vehicle in Davos for your guests and agree with you in advance what happens if the road is blocked.
