The assignment

Davos is not a normal chauffeur job

For one week in January, a mountain town becomes one of the most heavily secured places in the world.

Roads close without warning. Delegations move in police convoys. A journey of 500 metres can take forty minutes, and the only road in from the valley can shut because of one fallen tree.

Clients cope best when the people driving them have done this before. We have supplied luxury transportation in Davos during the World Economic Forum for eight years, for government delegations, ministers and C-level executives. Our chauffeur service in Davos is built around that experience: drivers who know the town, vehicles that are registered and equipped for winter, and a dispatch team that stays on site until the last guest has left.

  • One point of contact from first enquiry to last drop-off.
  • Vehicle and driver registration handled for you.
  • Convoys for groups of 30 to 50 passengers.
  • A dispatch team on site that reroutes in minutes.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How long have you worked at the Forum?

Eight years. Our chauffeurs and coordinators have worked the Davos Forum for eight years, for government delegations, ministers and C-level executives.

How early should I book a chauffeur for the WEF in Davos?

Enquire in July or August of the year before the Forum. Hundreds of vehicles are deployed for the week, and the chauffeurs with real Davos experience are taken first. Late requests are possible, but the choice of drivers and vehicles narrows quickly from October.

Can you invoice a whole delegation on one bill?

Yes. We centralise invoicing and follow-up: one coordinator, one invoice for the whole programme, and a clear follow-up of every movement.

Does Ernest & Sons register vehicles and drivers for the WEF?

Yes. We handle vehicle and driver registration for you and advise which badge suits each client. Procedures and deadlines are set by the authorities and change from year to year, so we work from the current official instructions.

How long does the transfer from Zurich airport to Davos take?

About two hours in normal conditions and roughly 2.5 hours or more during the Forum, when weather, traffic and checkpoints add time. By helicopter the flight takes around 40 minutes, subject to weather and permissions.

How quickly do you reply to an enquiry?

Within hours. Replying fast is a point of honour for us: every enquiry sent by WhatsApp, email or telephone is answered by a coordinator who knows Davos, with availability and a clear proposal.
