Why us
Why Ernest & Sons: eight years of Davos
What sets us apart is not the car. It is who drives it, and how carefully they were chosen.

What sets us apart
Quality over quantity
We run a boutique luxury logistics company, and we keep it that way on purpose.
Our structure is built around a high level of service for an exclusive clientele whose size we intentionally contain. Rather than accepting every mandate that comes our way, we concentrate on quality, so that the events we manage take centre stage and become our main focus.
By limiting the number of portfolios each account manager and coordinator handles, we make sure they have the time before, during and after an event to keep up the commitment that the worldwide luxury transportation sector expects of us.
In Davos, that means eight years of experience with government delegations, ministers and C-level executives, and a team that knows the town, the Forum and the people who run it.
Driver selection
We meet every chauffeur ourselves
As an intermediary provider, our reputation depends on the drivers we place. Recruitment is rigorous and personal.
In-person testing
Wherever a driver is based in the world, at least one account manager from Ernest & Sons travels there to test their service.
What we assess
Driving skills, language level, reaction to spontaneous situations, local knowledge, vehicle cleanliness and, most importantly, attitude.
Why it works
Because we have evaluated each driver personally, we can vouch for them. It also builds lasting mutual relationships that a phone call never could.
For travel managers
One partner, one invoice
A programme with many guests, hotels and movements needs one owner. We give you a single coordinator and centralised invoicing and follow-up.
Chauffeurs
Presentation, attitude and equipment
A chauffeur represents the client they are responsible for.
Presentation
Every driver wears a tailored suit with matching fabrics and a suitably coloured shirt. Shoes are dark, clean and waxed. Hair is groomed, hands and nails are clean, and no strong odours such as cologne are acceptable. Smoking is prohibited before a passenger’s service.
Attitude
Demeanour must match appearance: calm, polite and professional throughout the service.
What each driver carries
Without exception, every driver carries the essentials on their person: smartphone, phone charger, cash and credit cards, driving licence and passport.
Vehicles
Every car, every time
Each vehicle includes the goods and materials that make a journey comfortable and practical.
That means water bottles, tissues and hand wipes, mints, phone chargers, Wi-Fi routers and more. Depending on the place and the season, cars are fitted with adapted equipment: umbrellas for rain, snow grips in ski resorts.
The Financial Times is offered for airport arrivals and departures, and other newspapers are available on request. Each limousine is cleaned thoroughly before service. During standby, the chauffeur checks the interior, empties waste and restocks water and wipes. At the end of a service the car is inspected so passengers do not leave belongings behind.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
How long have you worked at the Forum?
Eight years. Our chauffeurs and coordinators have worked the Davos Forum for eight years, for government delegations, ministers and C-level executives.
How do you select your chauffeurs?
By meeting them. An Ernest & Sons account manager travels to each new driver’s location and tests driving, language, local knowledge, reactions, vehicle cleanliness and attitude. Only drivers we have vetted in person join our pool.
Can you invoice a whole delegation on one bill?
Yes. We centralise invoicing and follow-up: one coordinator, one invoice for the whole programme, and a clear follow-up of every movement.
Do your chauffeurs speak English?
Our pool of chauffeurs is bilingual and experienced in transporting VVIPs during the World Economic Forum. Language level is one of the points we test.
Can I request a specific language or dress code?
Tell us when you write. We match chauffeurs to the request wherever the pool allows.
