The service

A WEF chauffeur service that knows the town

Ernest & Sons has supplied luxury transportation in Davos during the World Economic Forum for eight years.

The Annual Meeting takes place from 18–22 January 2027. Political and corporate leaders, heads of industry and civil society arrive in a town of roughly 11,000 residents, and the receptions, dinners and side events run from early morning to late at night.

A WEF chauffeur service in Davos has to do more than drive. It has to register vehicles, place the right drivers, anticipate the closures, and answer the phone at two in the morning when a flight lands late. That is the job we do, for government delegations, ministers and C-level executives.

Accredited chauffeurs for the restricted zones

Our drivers hold access to the restricted WEF zones and have worked the Forum before. They know which streets are one-way in Forum week, where the drop-off points are, and how long the walk from a checkpoint really takes.

Coordination with your security team

Clear communication with close-protection officers and on-site coordinators is agreed before arrival. We share routes, drop-off points and alternatives so nobody improvises on the day.

What is included

Everything around the car as well

The vehicle is the visible part. Most of the work happens behind it.

  1. VIP meet & greet

We start at the airport. A coordinator meets the guest at the aircraft or the arrivals hall and walks them to the vehicle, with luggage handled.

  2. Registration

We take care of vehicle and driver registration to save you time, and we advise which badges suit each client.

  3. Helicopter transfers

For guests who would rather fly the last leg. Availability depends on the weather, which is fickle at this time of year.

  4. Winter-ready cars

Winter tyres, umbrellas, snow grips for every passenger, cleaning equipment and the usual comforts: water, hand wipes, chargers and Wi-Fi.

  5. Protection on request

Bulletproof vehicles and security-trained drivers for politically important persons.

  6. On-site dispatch

A qualified dispatch team in Davos responds to changes and new requests and keeps the whole programme coordinated.

Why it matters

Experience is the product

Every January the same problems return: a convoy holds up the Promenade, snow closes a side road, a meeting runs long and the next one starts in ten minutes. There is no software fix for this. It is solved by drivers who have seen it before and by a dispatcher who can reroute in seconds.

That is why we put so much effort into choosing drivers. Read how we select and test our chauffeurs.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How long have you worked at the Forum?

Eight years. Our chauffeurs and coordinators have worked the Davos Forum for eight years, for government delegations, ministers and C-level executives.

How early should I book a chauffeur for the WEF in Davos?

Enquire in July or August of the year before the Forum. Hundreds of vehicles are deployed for the week, and the chauffeurs with real Davos experience are taken first. Late requests are possible, but the choice of drivers and vehicles narrows quickly from October.

Does Ernest & Sons register vehicles and drivers for the WEF?

Yes. We handle vehicle and driver registration for you and advise which badge suits each client. Procedures and deadlines are set by the authorities and change from year to year, so we work from the current official instructions.

What happens if the road to Davos is closed?

We plan alternatives before you travel: a second route, a helicopter option where available, and extra time in the schedule. Our dispatch team monitors conditions and informs the guest and the security team early.

Can one desk manage many vehicles for a delegation?

Yes. Larger groups of roughly 30 to 50 passengers travel in convoy, typically in Mercedes V-Class vehicles, with lead and support cars as required.
