The climate
January in Davos is properly cold
Davos sits at about 1,560 metres, and temperatures vary widely from year to year and from day to night.
Daytime can be close to freezing and sometimes bright. After dark, temperatures fall sharply, and sub-zero nights are normal. Weather changes fast in the mountains, and snow, fog and sunshine can all appear in a single day.
Guests often arrive dressed for a business lunch and end up standing outside for twenty minutes. A few small choices make the week far more comfortable.

Footwear with grip
Icy pavements are the real hazard. Wear shoes with a proper sole, or carry grips. Our cars carry snow grips for every passenger.
Layers, not one big coat
Indoor venues are warm; outdoor queues are not. Layers let you adapt.
A hat, gloves and a scarf
They weigh nothing in a bag and matter a great deal at night.
An umbrella
Wet snow and rain both happen, and an umbrella helps with either. Our cars carry umbrellas.
In the car
How our cars are equipped
Beyond the standard equipment of water, hand wipes, mints, phone chargers and Wi-Fi, our Davos vehicles carry winter tyres, umbrellas and snow grips. Cars get dirty very quickly in snow and salt, so cleaning equipment travels with the driver too.
